SCOTT, EUGENE M., "GENE," 89, of South Louisville, peacefully passed from this life on Sunday April 29, 2012 at his home.

He was a native of Larue County, a retired driver for the old Louisville Transit Co. (TARC) where he worked for 40 years, a member of Plumb Masonic Lodge #862, and attended Carlisle Avenue Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Floyd, Carl, C.G. and Murl Scott.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, the former Essie Risen; a son, Bill Scott (Rebecca); brothers, Wayne (Joyce) and Jimmie Scott; and a grandson Kristopher Scott (Erica).

A service to celebrate Mr. Scott's life will be held at noon Thursday in the Southern Chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Wednesday.
