EVANS, WILMOTH D. "TOMMY," 86, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th at his home.

A native of Caneyville KY, he was retired from Reynolds Metals.

A World War II Navy veteran, he served in both the Pacific and European theaters including the D Day invasion of Normandy Beach.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Effie and Daymon Evans.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, LaVerne (Schaffner) Evans. Beloved father of sons, Dr. Daymon Evans (Jane) of Indianapolis, IN, Daniel Evans (Lynn) of Easley, SC and daughter, Elaine Evans of Louisville; and two very caring grandchildren, Jason and Casey Evans of Easley, SC and beloved cousin, Mary (Pruitt) Embry.

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Thursday at Highlands Family-Owned Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorville Road Louisville, and funeral at 1 p.m. on Friday at Highlands. Burial will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.
